EGGE – Network of experts on employment and gender equality issues

The European Commission's Expert Group on Gender and Employment (EGGE) was set up under the European Commission's Fourth Action Programme on Equal Opportunities for Women and Men in the European Union to provide expert advice, research and policy evaluation, as well as to provide the Commission's Equal Opportunities Unit of DG Employment with technical assistance.

EGGE consisted of 33 senior independent academic experts, i.e. with longstanding experience in the field of equal opportunities and employment covering 27 Member States as well as EFTA/EEA and candidate countries. Inter alia, the activities included the ex-ante and ex-post evaluation of National Reform Programmes (NRP) (in 34 countries).
