Improving Skills Matching in Europe 2024-2025
As part of the EU Social Partners' Integrated Projects of the European Social Dialogue, the research study Improving Skills Matching in Europe 2024-2025 seeks to explore and enhance the role of social partners in addressing skills mismatches and shortages across the EU.
The project focuses on the following key aspects of skills matching and its critical role in shaping a competitive, inclusive, and innovative EU labour market:
- exploring the concepts of skills mismatches and shortages, analysing the factors that contribute to these phenomena.
- Examining how social partners contribute to national and sectoral approaches through social dialogue.
- Investigating the interplay between skills development, quality jobs, and the competitiveness of EU companies, regions, and countries.
- Developing actionable strategies to enhance employee training frameworks, improve labour market intelligence, and reduce structural mismatches.
The study has strong emphasis on the role of social partners in updating occupational profiles and shaping curricula to address changing market demands. Additionally, it highlights the significance of quality, inclusive, and effective employee training in mitigating skills shortages.
Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini will produce a comprehensive research paper on skills matching, social dialogue, and the relationship between skills, jobs, and competitiveness.
